Pain pills that are prescribed by doctors can be very helpful in managing pain when they are used correctly. When people get prescribed them and begin to abuse them they can become addicted very quickly. Just as soon as you are prescribed them you will begin to feel like you need them just to get by. Your body and your mind both feel this pull to the pills that is unlike anything else. This
Some times it takes people multiple times to understand howto handle their problems with drugs and alcohol. They may try to handle it through going to meeting, quitting on their own, or even just tapering off of the drugs or alcohol. On the other hand sometimes it only takes one time for someone to really get it and turn their life around. It is sometimes said that someone needs to hit their

The terrible tumble, from productive loving person to one who cheats, manipulates, steals, lies and harms others through words and deeds. How do drugs do this? It happens over and over again. In a way, it doesn't matter. It only matters that it can be undone. But it's not a quick fix. Not a 28 day repair. For one thing, the drug residues have to be flushed from the body in order for the person to

Most of the addicts I have seen get handled do so with the support of their families. Most people at the rehab where I work are not all alone. They have someone who cared enough to stick with them, maybe help them with financing or just support. It's one of those times of life that the value of loving and supporting one's family becomes very apparent. If you support them when they need it, you

Any person that uses drugs will always stay with them in there fat cells. So even if a person gets sober they will still have cravings to do the drugs because it stays in there body. All twelve step programs do not treat this specific problem, because they do not have the technology to do so. People who are addicted to drugs need a program that can actually pull the drugs from within there body.

There are many different kinds of addictions out there. Such as drugs, alcohol, and even addictions to gambling or even compulsive shopping! And there is a way out!! Twelve-step programs are unfortunatly not a very good source to get off of drugs or anyother kind of addiction because on average they only have a 30 something pecent success rate. Addicts need a rehab that has a higher success

People who are abusing drugs or alcohol need to realize that you do not have very many choices left. Except that you will go to jail, die, or get sober; thats all there is to it no buts or whats about it!! Unfortuantly most twelve step programs do not have the technology to keep a person sober for the long run. People who are addicted need a program with a high success rate, life courses, and

I have been there done that, wrote the book and read back over it. I know what it takes to get away from addiction to any substance/drug. People need a rehab with a high success rate and life
The Act of bringing back to a normal or good conditions. Or to bring back to the former reputation, place in soceity. Sounds simple enough but it one of the hardest things that i have ever done, and any one that has battled with alcoholism knows that is hard. The process in itself is a long difficult

How many times have I drunk alcohol to excess? I've been around too long to know accurately. But in the last tean years, not once. In the last twenty years, maybe three or four times. And why? Because I had stupid moments. Someone explain to me why drinking to excess is a good thing? You feel sick, you do stupid things, you can't drive, you endanger others. I've given it up. In fact for the last
