People get so stuck on the luxuriousness of the rehab facilities that they are going to. I think this is absolutely hilarious considering these are the same people who have stayed multiple nights at crack houses and slept in their own puke after shooting up a huge line of coke in their vein.

Some times it takes people multiple times to understand howto handle their problems with drugs and alcohol. They may try to handle it through going to meeting, quitting on their own, or even just tapering off of the drugs or alcohol. Any person that uses drugs will always stay with them in there fat cells. So even if a person gets sober they will still have cravings to do the drugs because it stays in there body. All twelve step programs do not treat this specific problem, because they do not have the technology to do so. There are many different kinds of addictions out there. Such as drugs, alcohol, and even addictions to gambling or even compulsive shopping! And there is a way out!! Twelve-step programs are unfortunatly not a very good source to get off of drugs or anyother kind of addiction because on average they only have a 30 something pecent success rate. Addicts need a rehab that has a higher success rate.

People who are abusing drugs or alcohol need to realize that you do not have very many choices left. Except that you will go to jail, die, or get sober; thats all there is to it no buts or whats about it!! Unfortuantly most twelve step programs do not have the technology to keep a person sober for the long run. People who are addicted need a program with a high success rate, life courses, and ways to pull the drugs form your system so that the person will not have cravings anymore!!

I have been there done that, wrote the book and read back over it. I know what it takes to get away from addiction to any substance/drug. People need a rehab with a high success rate and life courses.

The Act of bringing back to a normal or good conditions. Or to bring back to the former reputation, place in soceity. Sounds simple enough but it one of the hardest things that i have ever done, and any one that has battled with alcoholism knows that is hard. The process in itself is a long difficult process.

I guess I would hope that I would knuckle down and do the program. But it would have to be a program that helped ME see where I had gone wrong and then gave me the tools to fix it. The one thing I would not want is for someone who thinks they have the right to tell me what I did wrong or what my problems were, just because someone gave them a diploma. How would they know, exactly? How great are they doing in life? Could I get a drug test on them before they talked to me? I'd like to know tha [...]

It's called NIMBY. Not in my back yard. Some cities just won't allow drug or alcohol rehabs to set up shop in certain neighborhoods. What's the point of that? They don't want recovering addicts near them? Have they looked around lately? Every 13th person in the US is addicted to illicit drugs, alcohol or prescription drugs. So how does having people who WANT to recover and who are doing something about it threaten them?
