They may try to handle it through going to meeting, quitting on their own, or even just tapering off of the drugs or alcohol. On the other hand sometimes it only takes one time for someone to really get it and turn their life around. It is sometimes said that someone needs to hit their
My father was an alocholic yet I never knew it. I was so used to his behavior that i could never realize that it was because of the alcohol that he was acting in such a ridiculous manner. He was yelling at people and would constantly pick fights that didn't need to be even brought up. It was not until he checked into rehab that I got to see what an amazing man my father truly was. He was

Any person that uses drugs will always stay with them in there fat cells. So even if a person gets sober they will still have cravings to do the drugs because it stays in there body. All twelve step programs do not treat this specific problem, because they do not have the technology to do so. People who are addicted to drugs need a program that can actually pull the drugs from within there body.

There are many different kinds of addictions out there. Such as drugs, alcohol, and even addictions to gambling or even compulsive shopping! And there is a way out!! Twelve-step programs are unfortunatly not a very good source to get off of drugs or anyother kind of addiction because on average they only have a 30 something pecent success rate. Addicts need a rehab that has a higher success

People who are abusing drugs or alcohol need to realize that you do not have very many choices left. Except that you will go to jail, die, or get sober; thats all there is to it no buts or whats about it!! Unfortuantly most twelve step programs do not have the technology to keep a person sober for the long run. People who are addicted need a program with a high success rate, life courses, and

I have been there done that, wrote the book and read back over it. I know what it takes to get away from addiction to any substance/drug. People need a rehab with a high success rate and life
The Act of bringing back to a normal or good conditions. Or to bring back to the former reputation, place in soceity. Sounds simple enough but it one of the hardest things that i have ever done, and any one that has battled with alcoholism knows that is hard. The process in itself is a long difficult
When a person goes into treatment for alcohol, it's almost always more than a 28 day process. It takes that long really for the major part of the drug toxicity to pass off. So when is a person supposed to learn to make drug-free decisions when they have usually spent years or even decades making decisions to use drugs to solve problems in life? Some families who have been through a number of 28
By that I mean that so many people suffer from it and don't call it that. Let's look at this. What if we define alcoholism as a condition where people can't stop drinking even if they try, they have to drink every day, and they were losing jobs and lives because of it. That would perhaps name 8 million people each year. That's how many people the Substance Abuse and mental Health Services

Every alcohol rehab is different. There are ones that are like hospitals, grim, dreary places with lots of drugs going out to everyone. Psychiatrists and nurses in scrubs. Not my idea of a great time in rehab. Then there are some where you can get outside and they are holistic, where your real problems, physical or mental, are addressed and you can change your life for the better. Where the staff
